Kaiquan co-authors Shaanxi atlas for integrated heat-cool stations

2026-08-26 14:52:34

Recently, with the approval of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the Design and Installation Atlas for Integrated Heating and Cooling Source Stations (Standard No. 陕2026TN001), jointly compiled by China Northwest Architecture Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. as the lead organization and Kaiquan as a co-author, was officially issued and implemented. The atlas provides authoritative technical guidance for improving building energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions in regional construction.

01 | Industry Challenges Drive the Development of New Standards

Heating and cooling source systems are a major component of building energy consumption. Traditional plant-room construction has long relied on fragmented on-site installation, resulting in common challenges such as long construction periods, inconsistent workmanship, difficulties in ensuring system energy efficiency, and high space and operation & maintenance costs. These challenges are increasingly incompatible with the requirements for building energy efficiency and carbon reduction under the "dual-carbon" goals.

The newly released atlas adopts factory prefabrication, integrated assembly, and on-site installation as its core principles. Key units, including heating and cooling equipment, pump sets, and intelligent control systems, are standardized, integrated, and fully tested at the factory. On site, the system can be rapidly commissioned through lifting, connection, and integration.

The atlas covers multiple heating and cooling source configurations and can accommodate a wide range of building applications, including residential, commercial, and industrial projects. It provides unified technical guidance throughout the design, construction, and operation and maintenance processes, helping drive the industry from experience-based practices toward standardized implementation.

02 | Extensive Engineering Experience Supports Standard Development

As a leading company in China's pump manufacturing industry, Kaiquan's participation as a core contributor to the compilation of the atlas is supported by nearly 30 years of technological expertise and extensive engineering experience.

With R&D platforms including a National Enterprise Technology Center and a Postdoctoral Research Workstation, Kaiquan has obtained more than 900 proprietary patents. Its core high-efficiency, wide-operating-range hydraulic model technology has contributed to an average 5%–8% improvement in efficiency across its pump product range.

In terms of engineering applications, Kaiquan has completed 5,575 pump and system energy-efficiency retrofit projects across China, helping customers save approximately RMB 27.3 billion in electricity costs in total. In Shaanxi, Kaiquan's high-efficiency energy-saving equipment has been applied to major projects such as Xi'an Metro Line 10, providing extensive experience in local engineering applications.

During the compilation process, Kaiquan contributed practical expertise in integrated pump-set design, energy-efficiency optimization, and intelligent operation and maintenance, incorporating these insights into the technical content of the atlas. Together with universities and research institutes, the participating organizations conducted multiple rounds of technical reviews and evaluations to ensure the atlas's technical advancement and practical applicability.

03 | GXS High-Efficiency Units Included in the Installation Atlas

The atlas establishes the technical direction, while products put these principles into practical application. Kaiquan's GXS High-Efficiency (Heat Exchange) Modular Intelligent Unit is a representative product embodying the principles of the new standard.

The unit is designed around four key principles: modular integration, high efficiency across a wide range of operating conditions, intelligent control, and convenience throughout the product life cycle. Core components, including heat exchangers, circulation pump sets, and intelligent control systems, are fully prefabricated and tested at the factory. On site, the unit can be put into operation after lifting, piping connections, and electrical connection.

The publication of the atlas marks only the beginning. Going forward, Kaiquan will actively support the promotion and implementation of the atlas and provide engineering guidance to help translate the standard into practical project applications. Through these efforts, efficient, low-carbon, and intelligent integrated heating and cooling source solutions can become a widely adopted choice for building projects.
