On June 2, the Acceptance Meeting for the Localization Project of Complete Maintenance Spare Parts for Imported Oil Transfer Pumps, jointly organized by PipeChina West Pipeline Company and Kaiquan, was successfully held at Kaiquan's Shenyang Petrochemical Pump Industrial Park.
The meeting brought together an expert review panel comprising authoritative specialists from the Pump Branch of the China General Machinery Industry Association, the National Technical Committee on Pumps for Standardization Administration of China, and the Hefei General Machinery Research Institute, among other organizations. Zhongmi Holdings Co., Ltd. participated as a supporting partner, jointly witnessing another significant milestone in the localization of China's energy equipment.
The project addresses the industry's long-standing reliance on imported critical spare parts for oil transfer pumps. Coordinated by PipeChina West Pipeline, Kaiquan took the lead in completing the reverse engineering, structural optimization, and manufacturing of critical maintenance components, including pump shafts and impellers. Zhongmi Holdings was responsible for the technical development of the supporting mechanical seal system.
The project team overcame a number of technical challenges, including rotor dynamics simulation, precision machining processes, and comprehensive quality control throughout the manufacturing process. The complete range of factory acceptance tests and non-destructive testing was successfully completed. The equipment also passed a 2,036-hour continuous industrial operation test, with all performance indicators meeting the design requirements.
During the acceptance process, the expert panel reviewed dedicated project reports from all participating parties, examined the complete set of technical documentation and operational records, and conducted on-site inspections of the production workshop and physical samples of the critical spare parts. Following technical discussions, inquiries, and a closed-door review, the expert panel unanimously concluded that:
The complete set of domestically developed maintenance spare parts features a rational structural design, and all performance indicators fully meet the requirements for on-site applications. The project has effectively achieved the independent substitution of critical imported spare parts, and the results can be widely applied to the routine maintenance, overhaul, upgrading, modification, and spare-parts replacement of imported oil transfer pumps.
The successful acceptance of the project effectively addresses key challenges associated with imported spare parts, including long procurement lead times, high costs, and delayed technical support. It also provides valuable practical experience for technological advancement in China's pump and sealing industries and is of significant importance to ensuring the safe and stable operation of the national energy pipeline network.
