The pump performance curve is engineered with a maximum shutoff head limit, ensuring that zero-flow discharge pressure does not exceed 140% of the rated pressure, protecting fire protection piping and system accessories from excessive overpressurization.Operating seamlessly at the continuous 100% rated flow and pressure duty point, the pump delivers exceptional overload capacity: under a 4.6 m (15 ft) suction lift, it maintains a minimum of 65% of rated pressure at 150% rated capacity. Furthermore, under positive suction head conditions, the hydraulic design incorporates a non-overloading power characteristic, causing the shaft power curve to flatten or drop off at higher flow rates. Sized driver power (electric motor or diesel engine) equals or exceeds the maximum shaft power requirement across the entire flow range, completely eliminating motor overload during emergency operation.
