The CVS Makeup Pump (Chemical and Volume Control System Makeup Pump) is a safety-critical equipment operating within the Chemical and Volume Control System (CVS) of nuclear power plants. Its primary function is to deliver high-precision leakage makeup water—maintaining the coolant water inventory within the Reactor Coolant System (RCS)—while supporting critical nuclear reactivity operations such as normal boration and emergency boration makeup.

The pump assembly has successfully completed comprehensive nuclear qualification testing, including hydraulic performance testing, restriction orifice testing, reduced-voltage start-up testing, and coastdown time evaluation.
